Feeding
- High-Quality Puppy Food: Feed your Frenchie high-quality, age-appropriate puppy food. Look for one that’s rich in protein and low in fillers. French Bulldogs have sensitive stomachs, so avoid food with artificial additives.
- Portion Control: Frenchies are prone to obesity, so it’s essential to control portions and avoid overfeeding. Divide their food into several small meals daily (3-4 times a day for puppies).
- Fresh Water: Always ensure that fresh water is available. French Bulldogs can become dehydrated quickly, especially in hot weather.

Training & Socialization
Potty Training: Start potty training early, and be consistent with praise and rewards when they go outside.
Early Socialization: To prevent behavioral problems, start socializing your Frenchie from a young age. Introduce them to various environments, sounds, people, and other pets.
Crate Training: Crate training is highly recommended as it provides a safe space for your Frenchie when you’re away or during bedtime.
Basic Commands: Teach basic commands like “sit,” “stay,” “come,” and “leave it.” Positive reinforcement works best for Frenchies.

Exercise
Avoid Overexertion: Due to their brachycephalic (flat-faced) structure, Frenchies can struggle with overheating. Never over-exercise them, especially in hot or humid weather.
Moderate Exercise: French Bulldogs are not as active as other breeds but still require regular, moderate exercise to stay healthy. Short walks or playtime in a safe, enclosed area are great.

Grooming
Wrinkle Care: French Bulldogs have distinct wrinkles on their faces, and they can trap dirt and moisture. Gently clean these folds with a damp cloth to prevent infections like yeast or fungal infections.
Coat Care: French Bulldogs have short coats that require minimal grooming. Brush them a couple of times a week to remove loose fur and reduce shedding. A rubber grooming brush is ideal.
Bathing: Bathe your Frenchie when needed (every 3-4 weeks is usually sufficient), using a dog-friendly shampoo.
Ear Care: Their large, floppy ears can accumulate dirt and wax. Regularly check their ears and clean them with a damp cloth or vet-recommended ear cleaner.
Nail Trimming: Regularly trim their nails to avoid discomfort or injury. Use a proper dog nail clipper, and make sure to avoid cutting the quick (the sensitive area inside the nail).

Health Considerations
Dental Health: French Bulldogs are prone to dental issues due to their short snouts. Brush their teeth regularly (ideally, several times a week) with a dog-safe toothbrush and toothpaste.
Brachycephalic Syndrome: Due to their short, flat faces, French Bulldogs are prone to brachycephalic obstructive airway syndrome (BOAS), which can cause breathing problems. Avoid strenuous exercise and hot, humid conditions. Make sure they have access to cool, shaded areas.
Monitor Their Weight: French Bulldogs can gain weight easily, so it’s important to avoid overfeeding and to provide regular exercise. Obesity can lead to joint problems, heart disease, and diabetes.
Vet Visits: Schedule regular vet check-ups for vaccinations, parasite prevention (fleas, ticks, worms), and to monitor their overall health. Frenchies are prone to certain genetic issues, including hip dysplasia, patellar luxation, and respiratory problems.

Mental Stimulation
Playtime: Regular playtime not only keeps them physically active but also helps with mental engagement. Fetch, tug-of-war, and other gentle activities work well.
Interactive Toys: Keep your Frenchie mentally stimulated with puzzle toys, treat dispensers, and interactive games. They are intelligent and enjoy problem-solving activities.
